Case Farms Settles Donning, Doffing Suit

Law360, New York (March 10, 2010, 2:54 PM EST) -- A federal judge has signed off on a settlement between Case Farms Processing Inc. and a class of 3,000 poultry processor employees who alleged the company failed to pay them for time spent donning and doffing protective gear.

Judge Sara Lioi of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio granted final approval to the settlement Monday. The settlement amount was confidential, though class members will receive about one-third of claimed unpaid wages, before deduction of attorneys' fees and expenses.
