Calif. High Court Takes Personal Injury Award Case

Law360, New York (March 11, 2010, 5:17 PM EST) -- The California Supreme Court has agreed to hear a personal injury compensation case that petitioners say could cost insurers and businesses in the state hundreds of millions of dollars each year.

The state's high court granted the petition for review on Wednesday to a state appellate court decision over how much a woman named Rebecca Howell is entitled to recover after one of Hamilton Meats & Provisions Inc.'s drivers crashed into her.
