Canadian Court Certifies Class Against Microsoft

Law360, New York (March 11, 2010, 6:28 PM EST) -- A Canadian court has agreed to certify a class of indirect purchasers of Microsoft Corp. software that claims anti-competitive conduct by the software titan caused them to pay higher prices.

Justice Elliott M. Myers of the Supreme Court of British Columbia on March 5 found that plaintiff Pro-Sys Consultants Ltd. had met each of the requirements for class certification, rejecting Microsoft's arguments that the proposed class was too broad and class membership could not be objectively determined.
