Md. Power Cos. Hit With Wage-&-Hour Action

Law360, New York (March 16, 2010, 5:51 PM EDT) -- A former employee of two Maryland power companies has filed a proposed class action on behalf of thousands of workers, alleging that the utilities failed to compensate them for all hours worked.

The ex-worker, Richard Wagaman, filed suit March 2 against his former joint employers Potomac Electric Power Co. and Utility Lines Construction Services Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

Wagaman accuses PEPCO and Utility Lines of violations under the Maryland Wage Payment and Collection Act and the Fair Labor Standards...
