Meat Processors Win Class Status In Don, Doff Suit

Law360, New York (March 18, 2010, 1:35 PM EDT) -- Production line employees at Greater Omaha Packing Co. Inc. have won class certification in a suit alleging the company failed to pay workers for time spent donning and doffing protective equipment, waiting in line to receive knives, and other pre- and post-shift activities.

Judge Joseph F. Battaillon of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska certified a class of between 640 and 2,200 current and former employees of the Omaha, Neb., processing facility, fully adopting the recommendations of a magistrate judge.
