FINRA Enforcement Chief Plans Her Exit

Law360, New York (March 18, 2010, 6:02 PM EDT) -- Susan Merrill has decided to step down as head of enforcement at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and return to private practice, the organization said Thursday.

FINRA is in the process of choosing a successor for Merrill, who had overseen enforcement activities for the group and one of its predecessors, the New York Stock Exchange Regulation, since 2004.

Merrill, a former partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, has no specific plans yet for her future in private practice, FINRA spokeswoman Nancy Condon said Thursday....
