Sports Group Sues EU Over Shoe Dumping Duties

Law360, New York (March 19, 2010, 1:26 PM EDT) -- A sporting goods industry body is taking the European Union to task over its decision to extend anti-dumping duties on leather shoes imported from China and Vietnam, launching a lawsuit alleging that the measures hurt European businesses and consumers.

The Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry said Friday it had decided to take legal action in the European General Court to challenge the extension because the decision to do so was based on “an inappropriate investigation and a flawed analysis of the facts.”
