Roto-Rooter Faces Sex Bias Class Action

Law360, New York (March 22, 2010, 6:22 PM EDT) -- A Roto-Rooter Services Co. employee has filed a putative nationwide class action that alleges the plumbing giant has continually denied promotions to qualified women in violation of Title VII.

Office manager Debra Ring filed her complaint against Roto-Rooter on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, claiming that the company maintains and fosters “a reputation for discriminatory conduct which deters females from pursuing promotional opportunities.”
