Philip Morris Fails To Toss Cigarette Fire Suit

Law360, New York (March 26, 2010, 4:24 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has refused to dismiss a lawsuit alleging Philip Morris USA Inc. manufactured a faulty cigarette that led to the death of a Mississippi man when his house caught on fire.

Magistrate Judge Louis Guirola Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi refused to dismiss claims of negligence, gross negligence and deceptive marketing levied against the tobacco giant.
