US, Importers Seek Dismissal Of Nucor Subsidy Suit

Law360, New York (March 26, 2010, 2:47 PM EDT) -- Both the federal government and a group of screw and bolt importers have moved to dismiss a lawsuit filed by Nucor Corp. challenging the U.S. Department of Commerce’s refusal to investigate a claim that China’s currency manipulation constituted a countervailable subsidy.

The U.S. and defendant-intervenors XL Screw Corp., The Hillman Group Inc., Bossard North America Inc. and Heads and Threads International LLC lodged the motions Thursday in the U.S. Court of International Trade.
