Virginia Tech Equal Pay Suit Survives Bid To Toss

Law360, New York (March 26, 2010, 3:36 PM EDT) -- Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University has lost its bid to toss class claims from a suit filed by female employees alleging violations of the Equal Pay Act and Civil Rights Act.

In a brief opinion issued Thursday, Judge James C. Turk of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia said it was premature to dismiss the class claims because the plaintiffs had not moved for certification.
