Orrick White Collar Specialist Tapped For US Attorney

Law360, New York (March 26, 2010, 5:44 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama has nominated Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP partner Melinda Haag, a specialist in white collar crime, to serve as the top federal prosecutor for Northern California.

The president sent Haag's nomination to be U.S. attorney for the Northern District of California to the U.S. Senate on Thursday. If confirmed, she would replace current U.S. Attorney Joseph P. Russoniello, a Bush appointee and former senior counsel with Cooley Godward Kronish LLP.
