Boar's Head Slices State Law Claims In Don, Doff Suit

Law360, New York (April 6, 2010, 2:00 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has stripped state law class action claims from a lawsuit that alleges employees at a Boar's Head Provisions Co. meat plant in Michigan were not paid for donning and doffing protective gear.

Judge Robert Bell of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan threw out claims for breach of contract, state minimum wage law violations and unjust enrichment on March 30, four months after he denied collective certification to the employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
