Jury Issues Damages In 1st Bouchard Oil Spill Trial
Law360 (April 5, 2010, 6:28 PM EDT) -- A 13-member jury has awarded more than $135,000 in damages to the first wave of plaintiffs in a class action against Bouchard Transportation Co. Inc. over a 2003 oil spill that damaged 90 miles of shoreline property in and around Massachusetts’ Buzzards Bay.
The verdict, rendered Friday in Plymouth County Superior Court in Massachusetts, allocated between $3,150 and $45,300 to each of the first eight plaintiffs in a class consisting of about 1,100 property owners.
