Suit Over L.A. Supermarket Law Heads To Trial

Law360, New York (January 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A superior court judge in Los Angeles has cleared the way for the California Grocers Association’s dispute of a law that limits when supermarkets can terminate employees to proceed to trial.

Judge Ralph Dau of the Los Angeles County Superior Court decided Friday that the association raised sufficient facts challenging a grocery “worker retention” ordinance to bring the case to trial.
