HTC Faces Suit Over Caller ID Display Patent

Law360, New York (April 7, 2010, 2:27 PM EDT) -- Telecom company owner Romek Figa has accused HTC America Inc. of infringing a patent for technology that allows phones to display a caller's name, targeting the cell phone manufacturer’s i-mate SP5m smartphone, among others.

Figa, owner of a Hanover, Mass.-based company called Abraham & Son, filed suit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, claiming he became aware of the importation and sale in the U.S. of the allegedly infringing device in 2005.
