Chipmaker Fires Back In MP3 Patent Feud

Law360 (January 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Chinese chip designer Actions Semiconductor Co. Ltd. has asked an appeals court to review a ruling against it by the U.S. International Trade Commission, marking the latest development in its drawn-out patent war with SigmaTel Inc. over digital audio processing technology.

Actions filed an appeal with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Jan. 4 seeking to have the court review the U.S. International Trade Commission’s final determination, handed down last September, that some of Actions' integrated circuits infringed SigmaTel's patents.
