Blair Loses MDL Bid In Flammable Robe Suits

Law360, New York (April 9, 2010, 6:12 PM EDT) -- Accused of causing at least four deaths in several product liability suits nationwide that allege its chenille robes are dangerously flammable, Blair Corp. has failed to consolidate the mounting multimillion-dollar cases in a multidistrict proceeding.

The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation rejected Blair’s bid for consolidation April 5, concluding that the cases currently pending are best litigated separately in light of their limited number and the prevalence of individual facts.
