Bayer Updates Blood Clot Risk Info For Yasmin Label

Law360, New York (April 13, 2010, 6:06 PM EDT) -- Amid increasing litigation over its popular birth control pills Yaz and Yasmin, Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals Inc. has agreed to add new information to the labels for the oral contraceptives to alert users to the risk of developing blood clots while using the drugs.

The labels will now state that the risk of venous throboembolisms, or blood clots, while using the two birth control pill brands is "comparable" to that of other oral contraceptives, Bayer said Friday.
