Chief Bankruptcy Judge Joins Greenberg Traurig

Law360, New York (January 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- After more than a year of serving as the chief judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern District of New York, Melanie L. Cyganowski will step down to join Greenberg Traurig.

The New York Law Journal reported that Cyganowski will become the chair of Greenberg Traurig’s bankruptcy litigation practice.

A spokeswoman at Greenberg Traurig confirmed the hiring but said that neither the firm nor Cyganowski would comment further until she joins the firm because of ethical issues.
