United Airlines' Mechanics Defeated In Appeal

Law360, New York (January 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- An appellate court has sided against a United Airlines mechanics union, which had been seeking to overturn a decision that found the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. had provided sufficient warning that the ground crew’s pension plan was going to be terminated.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit affirmed the district court’s earlier decision, unswayed by the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association’s appeal against the governmental insurer.
