Another Ill. Restaurant Faces Tip Credit Suit

Law360, New York (April 16, 2010, 4:29 PM EDT) -- Great American Real Food Fast Inc. is facing a proposed collective action by an Illinois server who alleges the company violated tip credit sections of state and federal minimum wage laws.

Lori Curless of Mt. Vernon, Ill., filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on Thursday, contending the restaurant operator has violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Illinois Minimum Wage Law by paying less than minimum hourly wage under the laws' tip credit provisions.
