Newspaper’s Union Vote Remains In Limbo

Law360 (January 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- After hearing arguments from both sides, an administrative law judge will now decide whether to nullify the results of a union election that is being disputed by the Santa Barbara News-Press.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Judge William Schmidt of San Francisco conducted a hearing in which the newspaper accused union officials of coercion and of disseminating false and misleading information.

He then named Jan. 24 as the deadline for filing briefs and said he would rule soon after.
