Changes At SEC Should Make It Quicker To Subpoena

Law360, New York (April 22, 2010, 6:51 PM EDT) -- It's too soon to tell how the many changes at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission will affect Wall Street and corporate America, but the adjustments will likely mean the commission is quicker to issue subpoenas, according to securities lawyers.

As part of the annual conference of the American Bar Association's litigation section, securities attorneys and George S. Canellos, regional director of the SEC's New York office, spoke about the commission's recent changes, which largely boil down to the delegation of more authority to its staff....
