Monsanto Plants Final Brief In Supreme Court Case

Law360, New York (April 21, 2010, 7:18 PM EDT) -- Monsanto Co. and its seed partner Forage Genetics International LLC have filed their final reply brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in preparation for oral arguments on April 27 over a lower court's halting the planting of a crop of genetically modified alfalfa.

The company filed the brief on Tuesday, one week before oral arguments are scheduled, claiming the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California had no right to halt the planting at the request of Geertson Seed Farms and others.
