Chinese Steel Cos. Hit With Anti-Dumping Duties

Law360, New York (April 23, 2010, 2:08 PM EDT) -- Chinese steel pipe companies will pay anti-dumping duties of up to 98.37 percent on their U.S. exports of certain seamless pipe, a victory for their U.S. rivals behind the investigation.

Chinese producers and exporters of the pipe sold it in the U.S. at between 32.39 percent and 98.37 percent less than fair value, the U.S. Department of Commerce said Thursday. Commerce's determination is preliminary, but it will instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection to begin collecting duties now while it drafts a final decision.
