Ritz-Carlton OK'd Discriminatory Guest Request: Suit

Law360, New York (April 26, 2010, 2:48 PM EDT) -- The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. LLC is facing a lawsuit from a black employee who claims an executive at one of its Florida resorts unlawfully honored a family's request not to be served by “people of color.”

Wadner Tranchant, a native of Haiti, lodged a complaint Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, accusing Edward V. Staros, vice president and managing director of The Ritz-Carlton Naples, of discrimination.
