Suit Accusing Amgen Of Kickbacks Gets The Boot

Law360, New York (April 26, 2010, 3:56 PM EDT) -- A judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by several states accusing Amgen Inc. and others of providing kickbacks to health care providers to sell more of the anemia drug Aranesp.

Judge William G. Young of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts decided Friday to toss the qui tam suit originally brought in 2006 by Kassie Westmoreland. Several states and the District of Columbia filed a separate complaint in intervention in October 2009.
