By Eric Hornbeck (April 26, 2010, 3:42 PM EDT) -- Accenture LLP has been hit with a class action alleging the consulting and outsourcing firm discriminated against older information technology workers.
The plaintiffs filed the suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, alleging a pattern of age discrimination in violation of federal and Minnesota law.
An Accenture spokesman said on Monday that the allegations were without merit.
The suit alleges that Accenture engaged in a pattern of age discrimination among its older workers at a Best Buy in Richfield, Minn., that had outsourced its IT employees to Accenture.
