House Panel Probes Fatal Gulf Of Mexico Oil Rig Blast

Law360, New York (April 27, 2010, 5:09 PM EDT) -- A congressional committee asked the heads of BP America Inc. and Transocean Ltd. on Tuesday to turn over documents related to safety procedures at a Gulf of Mexico oil rig where an explosion killed 11 workers, as part of an investigation into the companies' response to the April 20 blast.

Reps. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., and Bart Stupak, D-Mich., made the request on behalf of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce and its subcommittee on oversight and investigations.
