VA Medical Center Defeats Nurses' Overtime Dispute

Law360 (January 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal appeals court issued a ruling Tuesday in favor of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in a dispute with a union representing nurses at a North Carolina VA medical center over overtime pay.

The American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO, Local 446, which represents operating room nurses at the Asheville VA Medical Center in Asheville, North Carolina, secured an arbitration award against the center in 1999.
