Calpine To Begin Soliciting Equity Investors

Law360, New York (January 17, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Bankrupt energy provider Calpine Corp. will soon take the first steps toward drafting a reorganization plan when the company begins soliciting new equity investors to fund its eventual exit from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

In court papers filed on Tuesday, Calpine said the company would start working to attract new investors and has presented creditors with a business plan that provides a rough look at how the company plans to exit bankruptcy.
