Google Facing Wave of Lawsuits

Law360, New York (October 24, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Internet search engine Google faces a likely wave of litigation from companies keen to capitalize on a French court ruling rebuffing the way it displays advertisements next to results related to trademarked search keywords, the Associated Press reported.

On Nov. 3, attorneys representing Google and luxury-goods maker Louis Vuitton SA will attend a preliminary hearing in Paris after Vuitton filed a lawsuit alleging trademark infringement, the Associated Press reported.
