High Court Rebuffs Bayer Bid To Revive Yasmin Patent

Law360, New York (May 3, 2010, 4:12 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal from Bayer Schering Pharma AG, ending the pharmaceutical company's bid to overturn lower court rulings invalidating its patent for oral contraceptive Yasmin.

The high court on Monday denied Bayer's petition for a writ of certiorari, which had asked it to consider a decision in favor of Barr Laboratories Inc. in a dispute over a generic version of the birth control drug.
