FINRA To Take Over NYSE Euronext Market Oversight

Law360, New York (May 4, 2010, 4:31 PM EDT) -- The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority said Tuesday that it would assume oversight of all of NYSE Euronext's U.S. equities and options markets as part of an effort to streamline regulation in the financial markets.

The agreement, which is subject to approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, calls for FINRA to take on the market surveillance and enforcement functions now delegated to NYSE Regulation, according to a joint statement from NYSE and FINRA released Tuesday.
