Schering-Plough Sentenced In Medicaid Fraud Case

Law360, New York (January 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has sentenced a subsidiary of Schering-Plough Corp. to pay a $180 million criminal fine for Medicaid fraud and improper marketing of drugs.

The sentence, handed down Wednesday by Judge Patti B. Saris of the U.S. District Court in Boston, came pursuant to a previous agreement between the government and the health care company.
