EU Committee Rejects Food From Cloned Animals

Law360, New York (May 5, 2010, 1:21 PM EDT) -- A European Parliament committee has voted overwhelmingly to strike food derived from cloned animals from Europe's list of approved new food products.

Members of the European Parliament's environmental committee on Tuesday voted 42-2, with 3 abstentions, to exclude such products from the list of approved “novel foods” because of concerns over food safety and human health.
