Goldman Faces $3M Copyright Suit Over Data Access

Law360, New York (May 6, 2010, 5:27 PM EDT) -- The parent company of institutional investor database has hit Goldman Sachs & Co. with a copyright infringement suit, alleging employees at the financial giant entered the database and downloaded valuable information without paying.

Goldman has admitted that its employees accessed the database without authorization and misappropriated information on hundreds of occasions, according a complaint Ipreo Holdings LLC filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday.
