Grasso Sounds Off About Legal Costs In Pay Case

Law360, New York (January 18, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Richard Grasso, the former chairman of the New York Stock Exchange, said the legal costs of fighting a lawsuit challenging his departure pay from the stock exchange might top $100 million.

In an interview with Bloomberg News Thursday, Grasso said, “If you took the entirety—there were 60 witnesses deposed, my co-defendant, myself—I would not be surprised if the legal bill were in excess of $100 million. This lawsuit from my standpoint is about honor. It's not about money anymore.''
