Crawfish Buyers To Appeal Pesticide Suit Loss To Bayer

Law360, New York (May 7, 2010, 3:37 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has thrown out a putative class action against Bayer CropScience LP and Allianz Global Risks U.S. Insurance Co. brought by crawfish buyers who claimed a Bayer pesticide devastated Louisiana's crawfish crops, but a plaintiffs attorney has said the buyers plan to appeal the decision.

Judge Richard Haik of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana on Thursday granted summary judgment bids from Bayer and Allianz and dismissed the claims of Opelousas Crawfish House and Tess Wiltz.
