Dish, Sprint Lose Bid To Delay DBSD Reorganization

Law360, New York (May 10, 2010, 1:27 PM EDT) -- A federal district judge has denied a last-ditch bid by Dish Network Corp. and Sprint Nextel Corp. to delay the consummation of DBSD North America Inc.’s confirmed reorganization plan pending their appeal of its confirmation to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Judge Lewis A. Kaplan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled Friday that any delay could jeopardize DBSD's $53.75 million exit financing package, which is set to expire May 19.
