Viewsonic Settles Sony Display Patent Case In ITC

Law360, New York (May 10, 2010, 4:35 PM EDT) -- Viewsonic Corp. has agreed to license television and computer display patents from Sony Corp., ending the respondent's involvement in a month-old Section 337 case in the U.S. International Trade Commission.

The two companies have reached and fully executed a settlement, according to a motion filed May 4 asking the ITC to terminate its investigation into Viewsonic.

Sony's complaint, filed in March, accused Viewsonic, TPV International Inc. and Chimei Innolux Corp. of infringing 10 Sony patents that cover certain aspects of digital displays.
