EMI Sues InfoSpace Over Ringtone License Pacts

Law360, New York (January 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- InfoSpace Inc. is being hauled to court by EMI Music Publishing Inc. – the world’s largest music publisher – on claims that the Internet information infrastructure company infringed EMI's copyrights by violating license agreements for cellphone ringtones.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Jan. 11, was made public in a filing by InfoSpace on Friday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
