Travelers Falls Short In Bid To Recover Defense Costs

Law360, New York (May 11, 2010, 6:40 PM EDT) -- Travelers Property Casualty Co. of America has lost a motion for summary judgment in its bid to recoup defense costs provided to a policyholder accused by a rival company of misappropriating trade secrets.

Judge Thomas Whelan shot down the insurer's attempt to force Tri-Union Seafoods LLC and several affiliated companies to return the money at issue, as the case continued to unfold in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
