High Court To Mull If Energy Co. Is Federal Agency

Law360 (January 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Supreme Court decided Friday to weigh in on the extent to which a corporation can be considered a foreign state agency, agreeing to hear a case involving allegations against a Canadian power company.

The Court will consider whether the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals was correct in ruling that Powerex Corp. is not entitled to protections specified in the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act of 1976.
