DC Comics Sues Heirs' Atty In 'Superman' IP Suit

Law360, New York (May 14, 2010, 7:01 PM EDT) -- DC Comics has sued the Los Angeles attorney who represented the heirs of now-deceased comic book authors in their bid to regain the rights to “Superman,” opening a new chapter in the long-standing feud over rights to the iconic superhero.

The lawsuit, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, contends that Marc Toberoff induced the heirs of “Superman” co-creators Jerome Siegel and Joseph Shuster to terminate copyright grants and recapture interests that had long been assigned to DC Comics....
