Southern Mills Gets Partial Win On Fleece Patent

Law360, New York (May 14, 2010, 6:57 PM EDT) -- In Southern Mills Inc.'s suit accusing Polartec Inc. of infringing a patent related to fire-resistant fabric, a federal appeals court has affirmed a claims construction with regard to two claims but reversed the district court's judgment regarding the third claim, finding that the term “tie yarns” was improperly construed.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Friday issued the ruling partly affirming and partly reversing the district court's claim construction and entry of a judgment of noninfringement against Polartec.
