EU, Central America Shake On Trade Agreement

Law360, New York (May 18, 2010, 11:51 AM EDT) -- The European Union and a bloc of six Central American countries have reached a pact to promote trade and investment between the regions as part of a bilateral association agreement that is nearing completion.

The trade agreement, the first of its kind, promises to liberalize the markets in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama, allowing European cars free entry for 10 years while opening European markets to imports of bananas, rice and beef, Dow Jones reported.
