FDA Expands Probe Into J&J Unit Tied To Recall

Law360, New York (May 18, 2010, 6:07 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has expanded its investigation into a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary that recently recalled popular children's medicines like Tylenol and Benadryl.

The agency said in a statement Monday that it was conducting a companywide investigation of McNeil Consumer Healthcare's drug manufacturing practices “to determine whether similar problems exist throughout the company and what additional steps the agency must take to ensure that these problems do not recur.”
