US Inks Trade, Investment Pact With Libya

Law360, New York (May 21, 2010, 3:56 PM EDT) -- In an effort to boost trade relations, the U.S. and Libyan governments have agreed to establish a forum to discuss trade- and investment-related topics such as market access, intellectual property, labor and environmental issues.

Christopher Wilson, assistant U.S. trade representative for Europe and the Middle East, and Undersecretary Taher M. Sarkez of the Libyan General People’s Committee for Industry, Economy, and Trade signed a trade and investment framework agreement Thursday in Tripoli.
